Painting #1

This is one of the first paintings I ever did, and I have to be honest, I first saw this painting from one of my roommates (she did it on a smaller canvas with a pink and green color scheme). When my parents were in the process of moving, I got to pick out new bedding for my room there, and I really love the colors brown and teal together!

As with any other paintings I do, you can choose whatever colors suit you! This is a 24x24 canvas, but you can choose to create a painting smaller or larger than this one.

The price would obviously depend of the size of the canvas, but to give you an idea, the price for this painting is $50 dollars. This is the first of many paintings that I plan to post, so continue to check back to see what's new!

Mosaics!

I have only done a couple of these items, but they are both some of my favorite things I have worked on! I think I love them because of the detail and the time I put into them. There are many different things that I have seen around that would be great for creating mosaics, and I have also seen a lot of really neat, different looking chips to create any type of look you want to go for. If you are interested in this item, but would want something different, I could look around and come up with some different ideas for you, and the price would vary depending on the item, the price of the materials (some glass pieces are more expensive than others), and the amount of time it would take. To give you an idea though, the price for each item is listed below:

Picture frame: 25 dollars

Cross: 15 dollars

Picture Frames!

This is a 5x7 picture frame and it is 25 dollars.

I first saw similar picture frames like these at Southern Market and couldn't believe how expensive they were, so that is when I first decided to look for something similar and create the idea myself. This picture frame is also in my parent's kitchen, and I love the picture in it because it is of my dad grilling at the beach! This represents something that is so important to my family, and it also represents the many memories we have going there as a family!
I have painted this picture frame for my grandmother in a black and tan pattern and she used it to put some antique black and white pictures in. I also made one for a friend of my mom's in an olive, plum, and tan color scheme and she has it hanging in her living room. The frames are painted and then sanded down for a rustic, weathered look.
This is a 4x6 picture frame and it is 20 dollars.
I wanted to show another example of this picture frame because these frames are great in all colors. I love this picture frame because it represents something else very important to me...my sweet friends! This picture was taken on our senior year 2008 Spring Break cruise and it is a great memory that I will never forget with them! These frames would also be great for young teens to have.

Prices for these picture frames are:
4x6 frame: 20 dollars
5x7 frame: 25 dollars
8x10 frame: 30 dollars

How it all started...

I would go around to all these cute little boutiques and gift shops and I would see all these little crafty items that I would want to buy, but I never wanted to pay what they were asking for them. So I thought to myself, I could easily make those things....so I did! My parents also moved into a new house a couple of years ago, and I have made quite a few things for them to put around the house, and it has been so fun!

The first item that I wanted to post was the first thing I made for my parents to put in their new house. The picture shown on the left is the item that is in my parent's kitchen. This item is on three separate canvas boards, and the colors are brown, tan and white. Each canvas board is 9" x 12", but could be done in any shape or size, and could be used to say whatever you choose!

This item is also the first thing that I actually made and sold for someone! It was someone in the neighborhood that had come by and she saw it in my parent's kitchen and asked me if I would make one for her daughter-in-law. The one I made for this lady is a little different than the one I made for my parents....I did hers in black and white, and also put it on wood and sanded the edges down because she wanted to go for the more shabby-chic look!

The price for this item is roughly 50 dollars, depending on materials and paint. If you are interested in purchasing this item or would like additional information, please email me at hrichards14@gmail.com

Once Upon A Time...

So, as many of you know, I recently graduated from the University of Tennessee with a communication studies degree. I am in the process of searching for a job, but I thought that in the meantime, I could create a little website with all of the artwork and crafts that I have worked on throughout the past couple of years. I have always wanted to do this, but have never really had much time to actually act on it! If I hadn't been so stressed out around the holidays with graduation, I would have created this for people to use as gifts...but, everyone knows how that goes!

Also, I just purchased a new Canon Rebel and am having so much fun learning how it works, so it has been fun taking pictures of things I have worked on in the past! Pretty much everything that I have done can be used in different colors and can be used to say whatever you choose, so if you ever see anything you like, I can accommodate to fit your personality or what you are looking for!

Everything is priced according to the price of the materials and amount of time each item took, which is usually 10 dollars per hour.

I hope you all enjoy looking at this, and that it can give you a little glimpse of who I am and the things that I love!
